PSI CHI Food Drive
This semester Psi Chi is participating in a food and fund drive to support the Greater Chicago Food Depository! I hope you will join us in this effort to help thousands of Chicagoans who are at risk of going hungry. Their goal is to raise $300 and 5 boxes of non-perishable food items.

Here are ways you can help: Donate funds:

WITH EVERY DOLLAR DONATED, THE FOOD DEPOSITORY WILL BE ABLE TO SERVE 3 MEALS TO THOSE IN NEED; Psi Chi donation collectors will be going into classrooms with yellow envelopes to ask for donations. If you would like to give a money donation but do not know where to go, please contact either Ana Mandrapa ([email protected]) or Gabriela Valencia ([email protected]).

Donate non-perishable food:

Collection boxes are located outside of the Psi Chi Office in BSB 2048 from April 7th to April 21st. Please see the Most Needed Items for the specific food items we are trying to collect. *Psi Chi members should donate at least five items from the most needed items.

Most Needed Items:

Grain: Rice, Pasta, Cereal
Protein: Beans, Peanut Butter, Tuna
Dairy: Shelf-Stable Milk
Fruit and Vegetables: Canned Vegetables & Fruits
Shelf Stable Grocery Items: Stew, Jelly, Macaroni & Cheese, Chili, Soup, & Pasta Sauce

PSI CHI thanks you in advance for your help! Together we can make sure no one goes hungry in our community.

Hello Everyone!

As you may have seen from the Psychology listserv emails, the InTouch Crisis Hotline and Psi Chi will be co-hosting a Graduate School Panel on:

Wednesday (October 30th) from 5-7pm in BSB 145.

The event will feature Graduate students (both masters and doctoral students) from clinical, counseling, (and may be forensic) psychology programs, social work programs and other related programs as a panel to discuss their experience.

Panelists typically share their story of how and why they decided to apply to their specific field, application process, and what happens at graduate programs. They also frequently discuss the differences between clinical vs. counseling psychology, masters vs. doctoral programs, etc.

Make sure you bring any questions you have! This event is open to anyone, with no RSVP required.

Hope to see you all there :)
