DePaul University- Institute for Business and Professional Ethics - IBPE Welcome to the Institute for Business and Professional Ethics at DePaul University, supported by DeP

DePaul University has long encouraged its students to engage in ethical deliberation, first requiring philosophy courses for all students attending the university, and later building on this tradition through facilitating the creation of various centers and programs, including the Institute for Business Ethics in 1985. From a research perspective, the Institute has created a body of work that is i

nfluenced by engagement with both the academic and business worlds. A significant portion of the Institute's work attempts to further the notion of moral imagination through engaging undergraduate and graduate students on ethics and moral decision-making. Every third year, the Institute hosts the International Vincentian Business Ethics conference. The research conducted by the Institute generally centers on the following concentrations: corporate management, women in leadership roles in business, and poverty alleviation through for-profit corporate initiatives.

What a great discussion and art exhibit with Lillian Young Art at DePaul University. The artwork of Lillian Young, "Wanted: Runaways" and "The Black Elder Archives", was the centerpiece of the panel discussion "The Problem with Archives" hosted by IBPE and DePaul Humanities Center. The discussion included the difficulty to find historical archive documentation in all public archive institutions (museums, libraries, education) for people of color, genders other than white males and the economically marginalized. Panelists also spoke about the work they are doing to provide inclusion of all people in archives through intergenerational teaching, portraiture and more. Panelists along with Lillian Young were Marcy Dinius, Professor of English, and Laura Kina, Professor and Vincent de Paul Professor, The Art School, with moderator Symone Johnson, Assistant Professor of African and Black Diaspora Studies. Lillian Young is also the Family Programs Director at the Brooklyn Museum.

The countdown begins! Don't miss "The Problem with Archives: Art, Race, Agency, & Memory" on February 27th, presented by the DHC and IBPE.

Engage with a distinguished panel including Lillian Young, whose evocative artwork in series such as "Wanted: Runaways" and "The Black Elders Archive" challenge our perceptions of historical archiving.
