DePaul Masters in Health Communication Educates professionals with the academic, critical thinking, and practical capacities to promote innovation and quality in a changing healthcare landscape.

Health care organizations are playing active social and political roles when responding to national health issues, society needs, and policy changes. This creates a demand for effective communication both externally for health care consumers, and internally for health care providers and organizations. The Master of Arts in Health Communication prepares students to apply knowledge through theory, r

esearch and practice in the areas of organizational, multicultural and interpersonal communication in health care settings. Courses include topics such as health care literacy; family and community communication; LGBT health care issues; advance care planning; patient advocacy; assessment and intervention; managerial and administrative communication; and campaigns and community action. A degree in Health Communication can lead to potential employment in healthcare administration, public relations, mid-level management, patient and consumer affairs advocacy, and more.
