Three-fourths of the world’s flowering plants and about 35 percent of the world’s food crops depend on animal pollinators to reproduce. That’s one out of every three bites of food you eat! But habitat loss, disease, parasites, and environmental contaminants have all contributed to the decline of many species of pollinators.*
In this online course from the CSU, Chico Center for Regenerative Agriculture, you will learn about pollinators and building habitats to conserve them in agricultural systems. This course will provide tools to identify native pollinators and honeybees, as well as explore the agricultural practices that enhance pollination services by these species. 🐝
Topics will include the importance of establishing pollinator habitat, including plant choice, hedgerows, cover crops, and other pollinator-friendly practices. 🦋
🌻 Course Dates: January 15–February 6, 2026
🌻 Live-Online Discussions: Thursdays, 11 a.m.–1 p.m. PST
