AUGUST 6 -8, 2021

Hey There All Y’All Oldschoolers!!!

Three month countdown for our Grand Ole Reunion!

August 6/7/8 at Camp Lotus

Get ready for a Fun and Festive weekend on the South Fork American!!!

We have reserved Group Camp E and the Tipi and the Yuba cabin, including sites 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,and 10. So we’ll have the entire West side of the campground to ourselves!
There are 5 RV sites with full hookups available so please let me know if you want one.

We have also reserved the Party Hall and hired the Funk Rock band Mescalito for a Saturday Night ThrowDown! Dancin’ the night away Old Schooler Style!

We’ll take a Flotilla of rafts and other whitewater crafts down the Gorge on Saturday. A short day option for Sunday is the upper section, Chili Bar run or a leisurely float from Marshall Park to Camp Lotus. I plan to be on the leisurely float Sunday after our Festivities Saturday night.

Please let me know if you’re able to bring a boat, IK, or kayak and if you can fit extra people or have a vessel to lend.

OLDSCHOOLERS!

just a week until 'we're all together again!'

Thursday night i will be having poker night at my house and anyone who is traveling from afar is welcome to come and camp in my yard. call 530-892-8923. it'll be a pre-party party!

you could also go early to belden.

Friday we will be arriving around noon to set up and schmooze. Potluck dinner and campfire Friday night. Anyone coming through Quincy please call me if you can help pick up rafts from Rick Stock.

Saturday we will be rafting on 1,000 cfs releases on the North Fork Feather about 5 miles downstream from Belden. Swimming beach for the toddlers at Belden, rock climbing at Grizzly Dome, and hiking three different trails also available. Don't forget to leave time for doing nothing but reconnecting with best friends. Three Fingers Whiskey will play at dusk. At the first break, about 10 pm, we will have an Oldschooler slide show and ceremony. The band will then play until 1 am.

Sunday will be more whitewater releases, activities, and schmoozing.

Monday will be bittersweet goodbyes.

We have some rafts. Bring your own if you have them.
But we want people to stay and boat Sunday, have a campfire on Sunday night, and drive home on Monday.

Check in at the bar when you arrive. I have put down a hefty deposit, so please don't stiff them or I will get the bill. We can also spill over to the old Forest Service campground farther downstream, but the gate won't be open so you will have to walk all your stuff in. Belden has requested 'no dogs'. If you want a cabin or RV site call for reservations at 530-283-9662.

ok it's official - AO Oldschoolers Reunion Thursday - Sunday July 26 -29, 2012 - Belden, CA. I saw that Shaw Dunton posted my letter but i don't see it here. i'm not that savvy with facebook. Anyway, we'll have a band Saturday night and tons-o-fun all weekend long. If you need a cabin or RV space call Belden at 530-283-9662. no need to call to reserve camping. More later.
