Registration for OLLI’s fall class term opens up tomorrow at 9AM! Get your class list ready!

Thanks to all who joined us for OLLI's Fall Class Preview event last Thursday! We loved seeing so many new and familiar faces. There’s still time to become an OLLI member before fall class registration opens Thursday! And thank you to the ChicoER for covering the event!

On Thursday, the Chico State branch of OLLI held a Fall Class Preview at the Chico Masonic Family Center. About 200 new and returning members attended to learn about upcoming classes offered in the fall, completely filling the parking lot.

Get ready to register for your Fall OLLI classes on August 27! Not all learning happens in a classroom, OLLI is offering dozens of outdoor experience classes this Fall. One popular outdoor experience is Wednesday Park Walks. If you want to start a walking habit, spend a morning with old and new friends, or just enjoy beautiful Lower Park, lace up your shoes and join us. Each week, you can choose a 1-mile route looping at Hwy 99 or a 2.8-mile route looping at the 2nd bridge at Cedar Grove.

One Wednesday Park Walk class will meet from 9:15am to 10:30am from September 16 through October 14. The class will be offered again from October 21 through November 18. Sign up for one or both class sections at olli.csuchico.edu when registration opens next week!

OLLI at Chico State is a lifelong learning community of more than 900 members who work together to help create and deliver educational, cultural, and social opportunities. OLLI is designed for adults 50 and older and is open to everyone!

OLLI Social Meetups offer members a chance to explore shared interests and enjoy the company of fellow lifelong learners between class terms. You might join other OLLI members to make some art, have a conversation, or knit together – in person or on Zoom. Social meetups are not just social; some instructors keep their regular classes going all year! Social meetups are a good way to connect and have fun with other OLLI members in between class terms.

The OLLI office will email the calendar of meetups each week to all members. Want to introduce a friend to OLLI? Please do! You do not need to be an active OLLI member to join a meetup, so bring a friend to give them a taste of what OLLI is all about.

Paul Zingg, 14th president of Chico State and prolific sports history author, died April 9 at the age of 80.
