MEET AND GREET
with
Skogen Sprang
Head Slopestyle Coach
U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association

Joining the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association staff in 2012,
Skogen Sprang has made an immediate impact on U.S. skiing.
During the 2014 Sochi Olympic Games, the United States swept
the podium in the first-ever Olympic men’s ski slopestyle
competition, only the third time in history Americans have swept
an event at the Winter Games.

A professional skier from 1999 to 2009, Sprang is considered a
trail blazer who helped progress the sport of freestyle skiing
immensely. Particularly, in 2000, he pushed the boundaries of
style and creativity as the first athlete to complete a switch Rodeo
720 Japan in competition at the X Games – a trick that helped him
garner a big air silver medal.
