Greetings Fellow MHC Alums!
Please join us for a Summer Get-Together to be hosted by Ruth Anne Wolfe ’82 at her non-profit, Community Happens Here, in Pleasant Ridge. We’ll socialize over famous Cincinnati treats such as Graeter’s ice cream and some Cincinnati Chili. Better yet, we’ll have an opportunity to meet some current MHC students who are doing internships in the Cincinnati area this summer.

The building is a dark gray former home, located on Montgomery Rd., just north of the intersection of Ridge Rd & Montgomery Rd, across the street from the Pleasant Ridge Library. There is a prominent sign out front.

Parking: Pleasant Ridge Library parking lot across the street (library is closed Sunday)
Free Community Lot at Walgreen’s lot a short walk away on the corner of Ridge Rd & Montgomery Rd. (6204 Montgomery Rd.)
There is limited parking behind the CHH building. Please limit parking there to anyone with mobility issues.
Access: There are steps up to the building in front and back. There is also a lift in the back of the building permitting access to the first floor without requiring stairs. Please let us know if you have mobility issues.

The Mount Holyoke College Art Museum: Our Past, Present, Future

Our guest speaker will be Tricia Y. Paik, Florence Finch Abbott Director of our dynamic college museum. As you may know, a number of our classmates have been great supporters of our special museum, whether as current members of its advisory board or as Friends of Art members. You'll be proud to know that two '82s have been key leaders of the board for many years -- Abert Noonan '82 was a long-serving board chair, Kind has served for many terms, King has just joined the board and Fisher Cutler '82 is the Museum's current board chair.
We are therefore really pleased that Tricia will be joining us to share with our class how the Museum supports College initiatives across campus, especially its highly regarded Teaching with Art program. She will also share the exciting plans underway for the Museum's 150th anniversary in Fall 2026!

Florence Finch Abbott Director
Tricia oversees the Museum’s administration and advancement while ensuring that its exhibitions, programs, and collection uphold the institutional mission. She earned an AB in English and art history from Dartmouth College and a masters and PhD in art history from the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University. An experienced art world professional, Tricia has worked at the Indianapolis Museum of Art, the Saint Louis Art Museum, The Museum of Modern Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Christie's Education. A specialist in modern and contemporary art, she is the main author of the 2015 Phaidon survey of Ellsworth Kelly’s life and career.

We hope everyone is having a good September thus far. Mountain Day 2023 is coming up any day now! Per tradition, Mount Holyoke alums around the world will gather to share a scoop at 18:37 (6:37 PM local time) at their local ice cream parlor. We wanted to preview our gathering plans for the day when it is announced by the President of the college.
Date: TBD, it’s a surprise!
5:00 PM: Dinner at The Gatherall, a food hall with various eateries
6:37 PM: Ice cream at Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams

What a wonderful Club Event today! Thank you Valerie Pence, Barb Seiver for being co-Presidents of our club, thank you Pia Lynch for organizing with me, and thanks to all the MHC alums, spouses and friends who came for an amazing docent-led experience of a beautiful and moving exhibition. Taft Museum of Art did an awesome job of lunch, and our docent Sandy was fabulous. Who wants to organize the next program? What interesting are you doing that we can participate in? Send us your ideas!
