I am part of a Faculty Learning Community on discernment and I would like to ask you, as ASLS alums or Social Justice Apartment alums or VOS alums or friends of, to share your insights on disccernment with me.
This can take various forms:

responding to prompts such as what help did you get on discerning your way forward from these programs or, looking back, what more would you like to have had, what would you be interested in now

This could be in writing or in individual and/or zoom conversations.

reading a book together and discussing, such as A Sacred Voice is Calling or Dean Brackley´s book A Call to Discernment or James Martin on this topic
how should/could advising and help with discernment be different with current students and alums during the pandemic and with the racism and white supremacy that has come to the surface during the current administration

We talk about how reflection in academic service learning can lead to insights on academics, civic responsibility, personal and spiritual growth. This happened to a greater and lesser extent over time and with different programs. Some of you were involved in ASLS AND the SJ Apartments AND VOS, while some of you were in only one or two of the programs.
Anything else that occurs to you?
If you might be interested in any of the above, please let me know and send me a current email for you. Mine is still [email protected]
I would like to try out some of this with a few of you between Thanksgiving and New Year´s.

Hey, everybody! There is a new page for Voices of Solidarity to look for and like. I am going to download the photos and then deactivate this page. Currently the new page does not say Xavier on it--I found it by searching for Voices of Solidarity Cincinnati. Look for social media activities this week--yesterday's was a presentation on Covid-19 and asylum. Once I get this page dectivated, maybe Xavier can be added to the name of the other one. Important to keep following this issues especially with new immigration policies being announced on twitter. Covi-19 came into the U.S. with our own citizens and in New York they brought it from Europe. (see NYT April 8). Here is an interactive link where you can locate information on Coive-19 in each of the Latin American countries.

Everywhere. AS/COA Online looks at how governments are responding to COVID-19 across the region.
