Restoration of the Eastland Centennial Memorial Library’s artwork from the Eastland County Outdoor Art Museum is well underway 🎨

The Outdoor Art Museum (OAM) began in the early 2000s by Cathi Ball.

The guiding mission of OAM is to make art history accessible to our rural community. Because of this, each famous artwork reproduction includes information about the artist’s background or the style of art.

Soon community members began painting their own and installing it on their businesses. By 2015 there were 42 artworks sprinkled throughout Eastland.

With the majority of artwork installed outdoors exposed to the elements, a lot of the paintings need to be deinstalled and repainted on new materials.

The Cisco College Art Department is excited to be a part of this mission by helping restore the piece dedicated to Theodor Seuss Geisel (1904 - 1991). He was an American children’s author and cartoonist who wrote and illustrated more than 60 books under the pen name Dr. Seuss.
