1. Major & Activities:
I’m a physics major in the class of 2025. At Mudd, I’m involved in MARC (the Mudd Amateur Rocketry Club), which has been working on a rocket that we plan to launch at a competition in June, and Science Bus, a 5C club that organizes an annual “Science Day” on Harvey Mudd’s campus (which includes demos, experiments, and other activities) for local elementary schoolers. I’ve also worked as a physics AE tutor and been involved in research during the academic year. Outside of school, I like to play board games, see movies in the Village, and play soccer with friends.
2. Plans After Graduation:
This fall, I’ll be joining the Peace Corps in Tanzania, where I will work as a high school math and science teacher. Once I return to the U.S., my hope is to attend graduate school and earn a Ph.D. in either physics, materials science, or engineering.
3. Advice to Underclassmen:
Keep an open mind, and don’t be afraid to try new things. Mudd is fairly unique in that the Core Curriculum exposes us to a lot of different topics, and it’s easy to meet people with a huge range of interests. Take advantage of the opportunities available to you, from academics (classes, research, etc.) to clubs to activities to try for fun. Use college as a chance to meet new people and step outside your comfort zone. It can be very rewarding.
