Happy late birthday to Bilbo and Frodo Baggins (yesterday September 22nd, as all birthdays should be recognized after the fact). Thanks to their creator, J.R.R. Tolkien, who once wrote in response to a biographical inquiry:

"I am a hobbit in all but size. I like gardens, trees, and unmechanized farmlands. I smoke a pipe and like good plain food (unrefrigerated), but detest French cooking). I like, and even dare to wear in these dull days, ornamental waistcoats. I am fond of mushrooms (out of a field); have a very simple sense of humor (which even my appreciative critics find tiresome). I go to bed late and get up late (when possible). I do not travel much."

Here's to a weekend of gardens, mushrooms, and getting up late.

REMINDER!!!

Attention RSU Students: MyRSU will unavailable July 30-31 (Saturday and Sunday).

We are upgrading all computing on all RSU campuses to a cloud computing environment. Academic Computing Services will make necessary upgrades at the completion of the summer semester. These upgrades will require that all student logins will be unavailable for a period of 24-48 hours. This includes access to email, MyRSU, campus computers, etc.

Please be advised that this downtime will be from Saturday, July 30 through Sunday, July 31. Notifications will be sent to you when the upgrades are complete.

Additional detailed information about the outage will be provided soon. Employee email accounts will not be affected by this action.

Thank you for your patience as we continue to improve our technology infrastructure.

Hillcats win! RSU takes down CSU Dominguez Hills and advances to Sunday. Rogers and Yellin each homered, and Presnell added four RBI in the victory!
