Whether you are new to the area or returning to campus, Clarksdale has plenty of places to explore. As students move back on campus this week and Summer Session II begins, we wanted to share a few things you can do around town.

You can grab a bite at a local restaurant, visit the Delta Blues Museum, take a photo at the Crossroads, check out downtown shops, enjoy live music, or simply get familiar with the community you now call home.

Fall semester will be here before we know it, so this is the perfect time to get out, explore, and make the most of your Coahoma experience. Welcome home, Tigers.🐯

Members of the Division of Student Engagement were honored to serve as workshop presenters for the High Quality Directors Child Care Institute at Jackson State University.

This was a wonderful opportunity to share our expertise, engage with dedicated early childhood professionals, and proudly showcase the great work happening at Coahoma Community College.

Mrs. Done and Mrs. Ross presented an engaging session on the power of leadership, while Mrs. Cox and Ms. Crittle led a meaningful session on stress in the workplace.

Today, we are proud to spotlight a recent graduate of Coahoma Community College who is continuing her journey at Delta State University as a first generation Social Work student.

Selina’s story reflects leadership, service, resilience, and purpose. From earning Dean’s List honors and scholarships to serving in leadership roles and giving back through community outreach, she continues to make a meaningful impact wherever she goes.

One of the most transformative parts of her college journey was studying abroad in Costa Rica, where she gained a broader perspective of diverse communities and strengthened her commitment to serving others with empathy, compassion, and cultural humility.

She is using her passion for social work, mental health advocacy, and service to support others and create positive change. Her journey is a powerful reminder that hard work, faith, and determination can open doors and inspire those coming behind you.

Congratulations on all that you have accomplished and all that is still ahead. Your future in social work is bright!
