Our 4-H summer programming kicked off today, and what an exciting start! 🌱☀️ Our 4-H’ers were all smiles as they began learning the basics of gardening, from learning parts of a plant to understanding how plants grow. We are excited to spend time learning, growing, and having fun together while developing valuable agriculture and life skills!

Here's your June landscape checklist for Mississippi! Some tasks to consider are...

Plant daylilies and summer annuals.
Scout for pests and diseases.
Plant warm season grasses.
Fertilize ornamental shrubs and trees.
Remove faded flowers.
Plant crape myrtles while blooming.

CONGRATULATIONS to our 3 Coahoma County Club Congress Delegates.

Our FHW/ 4H agent Kellie Burke had the privilege of taking 3 of Coahoma County's finest youth to the 102nd sessions of 4H club congress. Ella Burke, Karli Matthews, and Ta'kaiyia Wilder we 1st time participants. And they EXCELLED!! All 3 brought home blue ribbons for their clothing pieces. The also placed in the skill portion. Ella placed 1st in Level 4. Karli placed 2nd in Level 4. Ta'Kaiya placed 3rd in Level 1. They also participated in workshops of their choice such as Speed meet up, meeting other 4 Hers from across the state, floral design, dress for success, cookie decorating, and etiquette in the workplace.
