For today’s Spotlight, we feature the College of STEM! We present the members of STEM Scholars and "The Gov." This group of students represent our Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics students. This program focuses on helping high achieving students successfully transition to APSU by establishing a community connection with STEM Scholars, upper-level STEM students, and STEM faculty and staff, all while exploring a rich environment of research and leadership opportunities. The College of STEM has many Student Organizations and Events that help our students get the experience they need before their graduation. 🧐🎩

Congrats to Dr. Manisha Gupte's lab on receiving multiple awards last week at the annual Tennessee Academy of Science meeting:
Comfort Ogbu won First prize for her oral presentation in the Cell and Molecular Biology section, Bret Johnson won second prize for his oral presentation in the Cell and Molecular Biology section, and Summer Jackson won third prize for her poster presentation in the Cell and Molecular Biology section. Congrats students!

Dr. Jody Alberd, from the Engineering Technology Department, visited the STEM Scholars' class to introduce students to the robotic dog. During this session, students had the opportunity to explore the robotic dog's various applications and advanced features. This experience was invaluable in enhancing their understanding of technological advancements and an inspiring catalyst for their involvement in research endeavors.

STEM Scholars have the opportunity to delve into various aspects of STEM activities to observe how the integration of these disciplines unfolds. These students are pursuing majors in various STEM fields. The previous Friday, October 29th, they enthusiastically engaged in a chemistry project involving an epoxy resin crafting workshop.
