Attention, Clearfield!

All classes are canceled for Tuesday, Jan. 27, including fully online and asynchronous courses.

Essential employees are required to report as scheduled. All other faculty and staff should not travel to campus. Employees with telecommuting agreements are not expected to work, and liberal leave is not required.

Students who still need to move in for the spring semester may do so beginning at Noon on Tuesday, Jan. 27. Beginning at Noon, recreation centers and fitness facilities, campus libraries, and athletic facilities for student-athlete practice will be available.

Shuttle service on the Bloomsburg and Mansfield campuses will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 27 at Noon. Shuttle service on the Lock Haven campus will resume on Wednesday, Jan. 28.

Police services remain available 24/7 on all campuses, and student health centers will continue to provide services via telehealth. All other buildings will remain closed on Tuesday with the exception of those utilized by essential employees. The Clearfield campus remains fully closed through Tuesday.

Upper levels of the main dining halls on each campus will remain open through Tuesday. Aramark will begin opening additional food options as staffing allows. Real-time dining updates will be shared via the following social media accounts: Bloomsburg Campus Dining (), Mountie Food Co (), and Haven Hospitality Co ().

As previously communicated, all campuses remain fully closed on Sunday, Jan. 25 and Monday, Jan. 26, and student move-in is not permitted on those days.

The Add/Drop period has been extended by two days and now ends on Wednesday, Feb. 4. The deadline to submit or revoke the pass/fail option has also been extended by two days and now ends on Friday, Feb. 6.

Happy Holidays!

A POST FROM THE PRESIDENT:
🎄 Holiday season reminder: Leadership comes in all shapes, sizes… and occasionally, in matching sweaters.

Meet Jax and Patsy, my Chief Joy Officers. They take their responsibilities very seriously:

🐾 Human Resources: Ensuring I take breaks.
🐾 Student Affairs: Greeting every visitor like they’re a first-year moving in.
🐾 Finance: Demanding treats with zero regard for the budget model.
🐾 Facilities: Supervising all vacuum-related operations with deep suspicion.

As we wrap up another year of challenges, changes, late nights, early mornings, tough decisions, and moments that stretched all of us, these two are my daily reminder that leadership isn’t just about strategy and structure ... it’s about connection, presence, and choosing joy where you can find it.

Here’s to a holiday season filled with small comforts, warm moments, and the people (and pets) who make the work worth doing.

Clearfield came together to celebrate 36 years of excellence at this year’s Founders' Day Convocation Awards!

From scholarships that honor community legacy to awards that recognize student grit and greatness, 23 amazing students were honored for their achievements — and we couldn’t be more proud!

A big shoutout to our presenters, community partners, and guest speaker C. Alan Walker, whose leadership and dedication to Pennsylvania continues to inspire. 🙌 Special thanks to the Clearfield Educational Foundation and all who make this day a tradition worth celebrating.

The Lifelong Learning crew from CU-Clearfield and Mature Resources Area Agency on Aging tapped into their artsy side with a Halloween gourd painting session at the Liddle Gallery! 🍂🖌️ Led by artist Martha Bloom, the group got a firsthand look at the gallery’s latest exhibits and let the fall creativity gourd wild.

📍Shoutout to Liddle Gallery for hosting such a spooktacular afternoon!

Commonwealth University campuses and offices will be closed on Thursday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth, a Pennsylvania state holiday.

Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, commemorates June 19, 1865—the day when enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, were finally informed of their freedom, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued. We honor this day by reflecting on our history and reaffirming our commitment to equity, inclusion, and justice.
