We are beyond proud that Natalie Claypool, a language and international health major, is the ❤️ Norris Medal Winner! 🏅
The Norris Medal is awarded by to the best all-around graduating senior. 🎓
Natalie has distinguished herself through both research and service to support the health and well-being of children. She has been instrumental in implementing the Young Scholars Program at Pendleton Elementary, a program which connects students in Clemson's National Scholars program with children in Title 1 schools for mentorship opportunities.

Joel Williams, Associate professor in Clemson’s Public Health Department, received the Inventors Club and Patent Award for “Health Coaches for Hypertension Control” research. Cheryl Dye Emeritus Faculty and Janet Evatt, Program Manager at Clemson School of Health Research were also awarded. Clemson Inventor's Club is a select group of engaged faculty recognized for their continuing contribution to technology transfer through invention, maturation and commercialization of their university research. Caregiver Awareness: Identifying At-Risk Children was written by upper-class undergraduate students at Clemson University in the course HLTH 4110 Health Needs of High-Risk Children. The goal of this project was to meet the objective of understanding what conditions put children at greater risk for adverse health outcomes and develop a product for the public to use as a resource for these life challenges.

Congratulations to Patti Parker and Renee Connolly, for receiving the PRISMA Excellence in Research Management Award and Research Champion Award! Patti received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Clemson University in 1992 and completed a Graduate Certificate in Clinical and Translational Research from Clemson University in 2018. This certificate includes coursework in Health System Quality Improvement as well as Health and Epidemiological Research, among others. Dr. Connolly has served on multiple research committees including the Discover UofSC Medical Scholar planning committee and also received her Clinical and Translational Research Certificate from Clemson’s Public Health Sciences Department.

ITGA gives the opportunity to network with other professionals for collaborative problem solving and professional advice at conferences and regional gatherings. Dr. Smith Heavner, Clemson Alumnus, giving an encouraging speech at TCTC’s graduation.
Dr. Smith started his career in 2010 at Tri-County Technical College and received an Associate in Applied Science. He later went on to receive a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Clemson University in 2014 and a PhD in Applied Health Research and Evaluation in 2021. Currently, he is engaged in the Global Clinical Scholars Program at Harvard Medical School, serves as the scientific director of the CURE Drug Repurposing Collaboratory and is an adjunct faculty in the Department of Public Health Sciences at Clemson!
