Clemson Graphic Communications This is the official page for the Department of Graphic Communications at Clemson University.

The numerous graphic communications industries encompass areas such as graphic design, distribution, technology, printing, packaging, marketing and web design/development. Think of each of the products you use every day, each of which were designed, marketed, printed, packaged, sold and delivered. The Department of Graphic Communications’ philosophy centers on a unique concept of hands-on learning

. Students experience the equipment, theories, and necessary problem solving found throughout the diverse industries. Our graduates are very successful in a variety of professions within the realm of graphic communications. This is due to the department's outstanding faculty, curriculum, and the methods employed in our facilities. Each student is required to work two internships offering a wide range of experiences and the opportunity to build industry contacts for future employment. As a student in Graphic Communications you will develop both technical and creative abilities through a comprehensive and dynamic curriculum to become a successful professional in a technology driven and dynamic multi-billion-dollar industry.

PROMPTS: A.I. SHOW 2.0
by Dr. Blue

In welcoming the return of GC Majors and celebrating 2025, I am presenting my second A.I. Show 2.0 in the lobby of Godfrey Hall. My exhibition examines the relationship between tradition and innovation, exploring the theme, "The value of an idea lies not in its originality but in its ex*****on." The collection features works that bridge traditional techniques—such as acrylic painting—with contemporary approaches like AI-generated imagery, demonstrating how the ex*****on of an idea imbues it with meaning and resonance.

From expressive self-portraits in acrylic to dynamic woodcut-inspired digital designs, the show invites viewers to consider the transformation of artistic concepts through diverse mediums. The interplay of natural phenomena, personal identity, and advanced technology offers a critical dialogue on the evolving role of ex*****on in artmaking.

Event Details:
Location: Godfrey Hall lobby, Clemson University
Dates: 1/21/2025 – 2/28/2025
This exhibit offers a compelling exploration of how artistic practices adapt, evolve, and redefine the boundaries of creative expression.
