Today's Friday Feature highlights Darren Linvill, professor in the Clemson University Department of Communication and co-director of the Media Forensics Hub, has been named an Andrew Carnegie Fellow by the Carnegie Corporation of New York. ๐Ÿ—ฝ๐Ÿ“–

Linvill will receive $200,000 to support his work with the Media Forensics Hub. He will work to understand online deception and educate people on how to identify it, as well as learn more about foreign malign influence. Linvill plans to write a book about his findings.

โ€œDigital deception has a huge impact on our society, affecting how people interact with and understand the world around them,โ€ Linvill said. โ€œIt is important to make this research accessible to both academic and public audiences, so that people can understand the impact of the media and information they consume every day.โ€
