Our program is directed primarily toward the development of communication specialists and scholars, i.e., individuals who are interested in applying communication theory and methodology to the analysis and solution of a variety of interpersonal, organizational, and social problems. Specifically, ou
r program is designed to provide an effective background for individuals in careers such as corporate media or training, journalism, organizational communication consulting, promotional communication, and campaigning. Recent graduates of the program are employed in such diverse fields as advertising/public relations research, broadcast programming, corporate research, government, personnel/administration, and retailing. Others have continued with doctoral studies at major U.S. Students can complete our program either on a full-time (2 years) or part-time basis. Financial assistance in the form of research and teaching assistantships, scholarships, and tuition grants is available. Financial assistance is awarded based on merit as reflected in undergraduate records, test scores of Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or Miller Analogies Test (MAT), letters of recommendation, as well as financial need. For those who are not yet in your senior year in an undergraduate program, please consider our Accelerated 4 + 1 Program in Communication. This program allows for students to earn a Bachelor’s in Communication and a Master’s degree in Applied Communication Theory and Methodology in 5 years.
