Delta State University Student Government Association

Delta State University Student Government Association Student Government Association at Delta State University SGA is comprised of three branches of government; Executive, Legislative, and Judicial.

Student Government Association (SGA) is a governing body of students that helps shape student life on the Delta State University campus. The Executive branch is called President's Cabinet led by the SGA President and consists of 6 student body elected positions and numerous appointed positions. This body oversees the student life activity on the campus. Each officer is voting eligible. The Legisl

ative branch is called Student Senate led by the SGA Vice President and consists of a representatives of academic colleges, on-campus housing, commuter, and respective student leaders. This body incorporates positive change and voices student concerns to the Executive branch and further more to the administration. The Judicial branch is called Student Court led by the SGA Chief Justice and consists of a panel of Court Justices and an Assistant Chief Justice. This body presides over cases referred to by the Dean of Students/VP of Student Affairs. The cases may consist of parking tickets, residence hall write-ups, and ticketed complaints from students. Being involved in Student Government gives you a chance to meet a variety of people, gain leadership training, and grow as a student, leader, and person. It also allows you to become friendly with administrators and faculty. Student Government has a variety of different positions and responsibilities, so that every facet of student life is represented.
