Beta Alpha Psi is an honorary organization that encourages and recognizes scholastic and professional excellence in the fields of accounting, finance and information systems. As such, the hourly commitment per semester totals 16 hours. 8 of the 16 hours must be professional in nature, and the remaining 8 must be earned by participating in community service activities. Professional hours may be ear
ned by attending BAP Professional Meetings offered throughout the semester, social and networking functions, tours of accounting firms and private companies, Meet the Accountants Night (Fall Semester), and the Annual Spring Accounting Awards Banquet (Spring Semester). Many community service opportunities are offered throughout the semester. Such opportunities include Voluntary Income Tax Assistance (VITA), JA Blitz Day and Saturday Tutoring.
