Congratulations to all of our winners and participants in The Confucius Institute Annual Speech and Essay Contest and Confucius Institute Open Day, cosponsored by the Confucius Institute at Cleveland State, the Ohio Association of Teachers of Chinese and The Confucius Institute of Akron. The speech contest had categories for grade, middle, and high school students, and attracted over 100 students from 33 different schools from all over Ohio. The Confucius Institute also provided a stand that provided information about the Confucius Institute’s upcoming events, as well as Chinese language magazines and videos. Many participants were nervous prior to the beginning of the contest, but our dedicated CI staff worked hard to calm people’s nerves. And in the end, it was worth it, with 26 award winners being crowned from the three different categories. The winners will be announced soon, so stay tuned to our page for updates about that! And in the mean time, check out some pictures of the event below.
