Sears think[box] is a 50,000 square foot public-access innovation ecosystem at Case Western Reserve University.

Case Western Reserve University's center for innovation and entrepreneurship provides a space for anyone - students, faculty, and alumni and members of the community - to tinker and creatively invent. Located in a 7-story, 50,000 square foot facility, with 4 floors occupied and more under renovation, this project is the largest open-access innovation center at any university in the world. rs, think[box] receives over 5000 visits each month, making it the third most popular facility on campus, on par with the athletics center and the library. Popularity grows within on-campus researchers as well - in 2017 think[box] was the most cited core facility on campus.

Some highlights:
🔹 Malcolm Cooke, former Executive Director of think[box], received the HEMI Lifetime Achievement Award! 🎉
🔹 Adam Savage presented the keynote speech! He mentioned that his 2016 visit to think[box] (which you can find on YouTube) helped shape his philosophy on maker education, inspired by our approach of “meeting users where they are”.
🔹 Claire & Joseph got to explore Adam’s legendary Cave 👀
🔹 Joseph presented his research on recycling PLA scraps using novel sheet-pressing techniques ♻️
