We have officially ironed out the details for the 2022 Phi Delta Theta Ohio Eta Founder’s Day. This year we will also be using Founder’s Day as an opportunity to celebrate the life of Donald Chenelle and honor all the time and energy he gave to our fraternity throughout the years.

On Friday (March 4th), the active brothers will be putting on an open house at the fraternity house from 5:30pm-8:30pm. There will be food and non-alcoholic drinks provided. A chance to tour the house, meet the current brothers, and meet up with old friends!

On Saturday (March 5th), Founder’s Day/Celebration of Life for Donald Chenelle will take place from 5pm-11pm at Flannery’s Pub in Cleveland. Flannery’s has been set aside for just our group to use during this time.

Brothers and alumni, please fill out the google form attached to this post to RSVP to the event. Also, feel free to share with any and all fellow brothers and alumni.

Our Senior spotlight this week is on Kyle McIntosh. Kyle is a Economics major from Mentor, Ohio. After graduation, he plans on working at Sherwin-Williams starting in October; a company that he previously interned with and offered him a job upon graduation. Kyle recently transferred to the Zoom satellite campus of CWRU to finish his final semester. He will also be receiving his Masters in Finance along with his BA in Economics. When asked why he joined Phi Delt, Kyle replied, “I attended a rush event and enjoyed talking to the brothers about their experiences with Phi Delt and how it’s shaped them into the men they are now”. When asked about how Phi Delt has helped him he said, “Phi Delt provided me with lifelong brothers and the opportunity to improve my leadership skills being VP for a year. Couldn’t ask for a better experience!”. When asked about his favorite Phi Delt memory he replied, “Winning Greek Week my freshman year”. We wish you success at Sherwin-Williams! We hope you get to enjoy your time from now until then to the fullest!

Our Senior spotlight this week is on Spiros Roumeliotis. Spiros is a Mechanical Engineer from North Olmsted, Ohio. He is a senior but he has an additional semester in the fall due to a co-op and following its completion he will look to live in Greece with family for several months to network and blow off steam before kickstarting his career. After graduation, he plans on moving toward a career in renewable energy so that one day he may be able to develop more wind farm projects, specifically in rural Greece where he has family to this day. When asked why he joined Phi Delt, Spiros replied, “I joined phi delt because of what it stands for, and the character of those who came before me. People like Ryan Merlau, Steven Bachie, and Ben Carniol exemplified characteristics that I wanted to see in myself”. When asked about how Phi Delt has helped him he said, “Phi delt has given me friends across state and country lines that I will know the rest of my life”. When asked about his favorite Phi Delt memory he replied, “My favorite Phi Delt memory was freshman year when we last won Greek week because it really showed what a collective group of men can do when they set their minds to it”. We are happy to have you for an additional semester and we are confident that you’ll do great things after college brother Spiros!!

Our Alumni spotlight this week is on Alex Nesvisky! Alex is a 24 year old from Raleigh, NC. He graduated with a degree in Biomedical Engineering but works as a Sales representation for Community Funded, an online fundraising software company that is the official fundraising platform for the Phi Delt’s Theta foundation. When asked why he joined Phi Delt , he responded with “Didn’t plan on Greek Life, but after talking to a few guys at the greek carnival freshman year, I just knew they were a group that I wanted to be a part of”. He says his favorite Phi Delt memory is “3-peating greek week, but also coaching rope pull to an official unofficial 1st place my senior year”. Soon Alex will be going to Jackson Hole, WY to ski down the notorious Corbet’s Couloir, but he says he spends a majority of his free time in the mountains. When asked what Phi Delt did for him, Alex said “Phi Delt afforded me the opportunity to build lifelong friendships and give me a real sense of what it means to be a part something larger than myself, while setting me up for success after college”. We would like to say best of luck to Alex in the future!!

Our Senior spotlight this week is on Austin Navarrette. Austin is a Civil Engineer from Fort Worth, Texas. After graduation, he will be working as a Project Engineer for Pacheco Koch’s Fort Worth Office! When asked why he joined Phi Delt, Nav replied, “I joined Phi Delt due to the guys that came before me. Instantly I felt at home with them, and I knew I was joining a group of guys that had the same values as myself”. When asked about how Phi Delt has helped him he said, “Phi Delt helped me become a leader and honestly grow into the man that I am today. As President it was a lot to learn how to lead 50 guys and make sure that we thrived as a chapter. No matter how tough it got, it was super worth it!”. When asked about his favorite Phi Delt memory he replied, “My favorite Phi Delt memory is winning rope pull last year and Greek Week my freshmen year.”. In January he passed his Fundamentals of Engineering test, which means that he will be a certified Engineer-In-Training upon graduation. Congratulations Nav!!
