As we wrap up the academic year at Mississippi College, we say thanks to our Blue & Gold Sports announcing crew for their great work this year! These MC Communication students from across the nation called 87 Choctaw games this year and provided talent for 5 other local high schools and community colleges. They'll be ready to go again in Fall 2026!

Congratulations to this year's MC Communication nominees for the Public Relations Association of Mississippi's Student of the Year award, Kate Secoy of Clinton, Miss., and Emily Rowell of Shawnee, Okla. The students accompanied Dr. Mignon Kucia to Mississippi State recently for the annual PRAM conference.

Congratulations to MC Communication students Evelyn Parsley and Charlie Rook on their recognition by the Mississippi Association of Broadcasters in the 2026 Excellence in Broadcasting Awards!

Parsley, a freshman Communication major from Plano, Texas, won first place in the Audio Newscast - Student competition. She is the producer and host of The Collegian Weekly podcast from Blue & Gold Media.

Rook, a senior from Naperville, Ill., was a top 5 finalist in the Television Student Broadcaster of the Year category for his work with Blue & Gold Sports on MC Choctaws athletics.

Several of Mississippi College's Blue & Gold Sports students traveled last week to Dallas to go behind the scenes with the Victory+ television production crew of the NHL's Dallas Stars. Thanks to John Sponsler, director of broadcasting for the Stars, and associate producer Josh Clark, a 2019 MC Communication alumnus, for their investment in our students!
