The Kelly Merit Scholarship has been awarded to five outstanding scholars from our local high schools — three from Tuscola and two from Pisgah. Congratulations to this year's recipients Caleb Deitz and Addison Messer from Pisgah and Abnel Martinez, Chanie Brown and Elijah Hampton (not pictured) from Tuscola.

This merit-based scholarship recognizes students who have demonstrated academic excellence through a 3.5 GPA, strong letters of recommendation, and involvement in extracurricular activities. Each scholar receives $2,500 per semester for two years.

Thank you to the HCC Foundation Board Scholarship Committee for reviewing the applications and supporting these deserving students.

Each month will focus on a different area, featuring talks with faculty and students, visits to classrooms, and demonstrations of learning technology.
