A full-circle moment.

When Associate Professor Ray Whelihan interned at a farm south of Boston in 1981, he worked with Fritz, the horse that inspired Jan Brettโ€™s "Fritz and the Beautiful Horses." He brought the horse to a special appearance at a book signing with Jan back then and walked away with a signed copy of his own.

Last week, he brought that same book to Janโ€™s on-campus signing, getting her autograph again, 45 years later!

"We have all of her books. This one never left.โ€

Victoria Rapley, a student in the Culinary Arts program, recently completed a four-month Baking & Pastry internship in Houston, Texas at The Post Oak Hotel at Uptown Houston, a five-star luxury hotel. ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿผโ€๐Ÿณ

While there, Victoria worked alongside a talented pastry team, preparing and plating intricate desserts and gaining hands-on experience on the pastry line during service. "Each day pushed me to be more precise and efficient in a fast-paced environment."

Outside the kitchen, she made the most of life in a new city, exploring Houstonโ€™s food scene and culture, and even attending her first rodeo.

Victoria credits her Farm-to-Table course at SUNY Cobleskill Ag & Tech for building a strong foundation, especially when it came to working with ingredients and refining plating skills that she continued to develop throughout her internship.
