This weekend, students traveled to Saratoga Race Course for an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the Thoroughbred racing industry. They visited renowned trainers, watched morning workouts on the Oklahoma training track, and toured the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame. Later they enjoyed rooftop and paddock views, presented BEST Turned Out in the winner's circle, and experienced live racing 🏇

Thank you to New York Thoroughbred Breeders, Inc., Saratoga Race Course, NYRA, BEST, the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame, and the trainers who welcomed our students and shared their expertise 🐴

Proud to be part of Agriculture Careers Day at the NYS Fair! 🎡

Fairgoers at our hands-on exhibit are building electrical circuits and getting an up-close look at tractors straight from our John Deere Tech program. We're also on-site daily in the FFA Tent for everyone curious about our degree and certificate options.
Today's visit got even better with a stop from SUNY Chancellor John B. King Jr., who came by to see our students and faculty in action 🚜

SUNY Cobleskill Ag & Tech hosted 17 agriculture educators from ten states in July for the Curriculum for Agricultural Science Education (CASE) Institute’s course in Agricultural Equipment Maintenance & Technology (AEMT). The College has hosted this program multiple times on campus since the summer of 2023 🚜

During the five-day in-person training, participants learned the CASE AEMT curriculum, which they will now implement in their own classrooms. Participants in the program learn in the same lab spaces used by students in the College’s Agricultural Engineering programs 🔧

Ducks Unlimited Student Chapter Earns National Bronze All-American Award at National Summit

SUNY Cobleskill Ag & Tech’s Student Chapter of Ducks Unlimited was recognized on the national stage in July as a Bronze All-American Collegiate Chapter, one of dozens of chapters honored at Ducks Unlimited’s Third Term Collegiate Leadership Summit in Memphis, Tennessee. This year’s Summit was the largest Third Term event in the program’s history, drawing 350 students representing 109 collegiate chapters, including one chapter from Canada.

“The Ducks Unlimited Third Term Conference was such a fantastic experience. It gave me the chance to network with other collegiate chapters and pick up new ideas for improving not just our chapter, but the organization as a whole,” said Stephanie Bernard (Hamilton, N.Y.), Chapter President and Chair. “DU also opens up so many doors for future careers. I got to talk with current employees about job opportunities and potential collaborations within the organization. Honestly, I think Ducks Unlimited is one of the most influential and impactful organizations out there, for college students and beyond.”

No two days look the same for Kenzie Casey, a rising senior in the Wildlife Management B.T. program who also earned an A.A.S. in Fisheries & Wildlife Technology 🌿

This summer, Kenzie has been working as a Stewardship Intern at The Nature Conservancy's Silver Creek Preserve in Picabo, Idaho. Her work ranges from stream studies and invasive w**d management to property maintenance, leading educational programs, and collaborating with organizations including Idaho Fish and Game, the University of Idaho, the University of Montana, and teams from other Nature Conservancy preserves.

Kenzie says the variety of experiences has been the most rewarding part of the internship. Every day brings a new challenge and the opportunity to build practical field skills while learning more about western ecosystems and wildlife.
