Purple Knights, get to know the Center for the Environment at Saint Michael’s College at Reunion 2023! Since you were last on campus, the Farm (formerly the Garden) has become a major part of the SMC community, with students participating and learning in our “living classroom” and taking advantage of the experiential and service learning opportunities that the program provides. On Friday, 6/2, at 10am, stop by Cheray 101 and hear from Kristyn Dumont Achilich ’05, M’20, Director of the Center for the Environment, who will be presenting on the many initiatives that the Center will be implementing over the next few years thanks to the support of former Senator Patrick Leahy ’61 and the $6.4 million funding secured in the 2023 Omnibus Appropriations Bill. There will be Farm Tours on both Friday, 6/2 at 4pm and Saturday, 6/3 at 3pm, where you can see what’s currently growing and what’s coming up! If you want to purchase some of the Farm produce & products, you can visit the self-serve Farm Stand throughout Reunion weekend, open Fri, 6/2 – Sun, 6/4, 8am – 4pm.
