Again this year, MOVE is hosting a COTS Walk Team!! This year's annual walk is on Sunday, May 3rd!!

As so many of you know, COTS VT is a long time community partner of MOVE and SMC and "focuses on finding solutions to end homelessness."

If you would like to join the Saint Mike's team to walk, please register at https://cotsonline.org/cots-walk and join "SMC Walkers" - we would love to have you join us! We also welcome donations on our team's page! Cash or checks (made to COTS) can be brought to the MOVE office during business hours through May 1st. Yay for this incredible 33rd Annual Fundraiser and awareness building event!

Join the COTS Walk to raise awareness and support for ending homelessness in Burlington, VT. Enjoy a family-friendly 3.6 mile route through downtown with music, snacks & more! All ages welcome, dogs too!

Juntes has a couple opportunities for those who want to get involved with Migrant Justice's work, or want to get to know about their work in vermont and what they do.

On Wednesday, April 1st there will be a table in alliot encouraging people to make calls in support of the milk with dignity program, there will also be a silk screen for those who would like to make prints on shirts, pieces of fabric, or make posters with the design. (Juntes will only supply the printing materials, so bring your own shirts or pieces of fabric)

On Tuesday, April 7th there will be information sessions about MIgrant Justice. From 10:15 AM to 11:50 AM, and from 1:45 PM to 3:20 PM in the Farrell Room.

Join Juntes, MOVE, and Migrant Justice supporting Milk with Dignity! Stop by the Juntes table in Alliot Wednesday, February 25th, 9-5 p.m. to make a 2-minute phone call that could make a world of difference for many migrant farm workers.

Juntes partners with Migrant Justice to support the Milk with Dignity program by making phone calls to get Hannaford to sign on to the campaign for fair wages and safe working and living conditions.

MOVE will be holding its Spring 2026 Blood Drive on Monday, February 9th, noon-5:30 p.m. in the Roy Room! We are looking for students, faculty, and staff to sign up to donate and/or to volunteer to help run the event. There are volunteer slots throughout the day as well as donation timeframes, all throughout the event. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Sophia Sevi ([email protected]).

This Saturday Nov. 22nd, there's one last opportunity for folks to participate in H&H week. @ 2:00pm - Food Drive at the Women’s Basketball (Ross Sports Center) Bring 2 non- perishable food items/person for free entry to the game.

Toys for Kids: Sponsored by the Staff Welfare Committee, Toys for Kids is a Marine Corps League’s MCL, Colchester Lions Club program and is the largest toy collection program in Vermont. It is 100% Volunteer and this year the Staff Welfare Committee is leading the Saint Michael’s partnership with Toys for Kids.

There is a toy barrel in the Bookstore for toy drop-off. Please consider providing new, unwrapped toys to drop off at the bookstore barrel. Your generosity will provide Toys for Kids who might not otherwise have toys for Christmas. The barrel is in the bookstore from November 13 – December 17.

We hope to see you at any and all events listed on the attached poster, which include a potluck lunch with Dismas House guests, panel discussions, letter-writing campaigns, food drives, and more!

MOVE and the Institute for Equity and Justice invite you to hear from speaker, Khalil Osiris, author, educator, and social justice advocate, on Monday, November 10, at 5 p.m. in The Vermont Room. This is a wonderful opportunity to lean into the many difficult conversations that surround us and take an active role in engaging. Hear more about the value of leaning in and how to effectively engage, so we at SMC can actively work toward a culture of ethical dialogue and social change.
