And ☀️ they're off!
Since 7 a.m., more than 1,000 brand new College Park Scholars have spread out all over the DMV (from Baltimore to Washington, DC and so much in between!) for our annual Service Day!

Here's a peek at a bus full of UMD Scholars Life Sciences Scholars on their way to Brandywine, MD to volunteer at the Schmidt Outdoor Education Center, a 450 acre site that focuses on environmental literacy programming for PGCPS.

Because of the possibility of inclement weather with lightning in the area this evening (Aug. 27), Scholars Under the Lights is relocating!

📍 New location: Cambridge Community Center (CCC) and Cambridge Quad — starting at 6:30 p.m. tonight.

For Commuters:
✅ If you can get to campus safely, park in Lot 6 – Terrapin Trail Parking Garage, behind Xfinity Center, and walk across the nearby Paint Branch Bridge, then up the stairs by Eppley Recreation Center — a very short walk to the CCC!

❌ If you can't make it tonight:
Stay safe and don't worry! You will pick up your t-shirt and meal card tomorrow morning at a check-in table located behind Cumberland Hall and the CCC. 

For Residential students:
If you live in Cambridge Community: Your floor's RA (Resident Assistant) will walk you over to the CCC.

ALL SCHOLARS☀️🐢:
When you arrive at the CCC, here's what you'll do:

Pick up your Service Day t-shirt in the CCC lobby (Cambridge Hall side). You'll wear this shirt tomorrow.

Follow the signs to Room 1205. From there, you'll be directed to a specific location to meet with your Peer Mentor.

Questions? Scholars staff with clipboards will be around the building, or ask your Peer Mentor.
