Maryland-in-Aix invites you to immerse yourself for a full semester in the historic and culturally rich city of Aix‑en‑Provence! This program combines rigorous academic coursework in French, direct enrollment in French university courses, and an immersive living-abroad experience in a metropolitan French city, offering both academic engagement and the opportunity to immerse yourself in the local culture while mastering French. Situated in Provence, just a short train ride from Marseille and the Mediterranean coast, Aix-en-Provence offers a perfect blend of provincial charm within a globalized world, ideal for students seeking to improve their language abilities and take on a new intellectual challenge.

🎉Tetiana Tytko received an MPower Research Assistantship for her eye-tracking research on how multilingual learners acquire and retain multiple meanings of words.

🎉Ruirui Jia earned a highly competitive Language Learning Dissertation Grant—one of just 10 awarded globally—for her study of how second-language readers learn new meanings of familiar words.

🎉Mireia Toda Cosi also received a Language Learning Dissertation Grant for her large-scale meta-analysis examining how cognitive abilities such as memory and pattern learning shape second-language outcomes.
