¿Padres por primera vez? ¡Recibe $480 y libros gratis para su bebé!

¿Usted y su pareja viven juntos y tienen un bebé menor de 9 meses? ¿Vive su familia alrededor del metro de D.C. o DMV y ganan menos de $75,000 al año? ¡Inscríbase en el proyecto Baby Books 2 para recibir libros bilingües gratis y ganar hasta $480 por leerle a su hijo!

Baby Books 2 es un proyecto de la Universidad de Maryland y la Universidad de California- Irvine. Estamos interesados en como los padres ayudan a sus bebes a aprender, especialmente a través de la lectura a una edad temprana. Como parte del proyecto, nosotros visitamos a familias en casa a una hora que sea más conveniente para ellos (¡incluyendo los fines de semanas y por la tarde!).

Nosotros visitamos a familias cuando su bebe tiene 9, 18, 24, y 30 meses y hablamos con padres y madres sobre diferente actividades que ellos podrán hacer con su bebe. También, observamos los padres leyendo y jugando con su bebe con libros y juguetes que traemos a la visita. Además de las visitas, hacemos entrevistas telefónicas con los padres por el teléfono cuando su bebe tenga 12, 15, y 21 meses.

Para agradecer a las familias por participar en nuestro proyecto, les ofrecemos libros gratis para su bebé y les pagamos en efectivo después de cada visita a casa y cada llamada telefónica. Las familias que completen todas las visitas y llamadas telefónicas recibirán $480 en efectivo por participar. ¡No hay ningún costo para participar!

First time parents? Get $480 and free books for your baby!

Are you and your partner first-time parents who live together and have a baby younger than 9 months? Does your family live in the DMV area and earn less than $75,000 a year ? Sign up for the Baby Books 2 project to receive free books and earn up to $480 for reading to your child!

Baby Books 2 is a project from the University of Maryland and the University of California- Irvine. We are interested in how parents help their children learn, especially by reading to them at a young age. As part of our project, we visit families at their home at a time that is most convenient for them (including weekends and evenings!)
We visit families when their child is 9, 18, 24, and 30 months and talk to fathers and mothers about different activities they may do with their child. We also observe parents reading and playing with their child with books and toys we bring to the visit. In addition to home visits, we also interview parents over the phone when their child is 12, 15, and 21 months.

To thank our families for participating, we offer them books for their baby and provide payment at each home visit and after each phone call. Families who complete all home visits and phone calls will have received $480 total for participating!

We are currently looking for first-time parents who live together and have a baby less than 9 months old for the Baby Books 2 Project! BB2 is interested in how parents help their children learn, especially through reading at a young age. As part of the project, we visit families and talk with them over the phone until their babies are 30-months old. To thank families for participating, we offer free books and up to $480.
