🌾 Perennial Grass Spotlight: Fall Witchgrass 🌾

This warm-season native thrives in dry, rocky, or sandy soils across West Texas. Growing 12–30 inches tall, Fall witchgrass provides fair grazing for livestock and has a unique twist—its seed heads break off at maturity and tumble away like little tumbleweeds.

👉 Keep an eye out for this grass on your rangelands—it’s another piece of the puzzle in managing diverse and resilient pastures!

Big thank you to the RWFM & TAMU Plant ID Students that came out this morning along with Dr Shehane. They helped with a native landscaping at our new building. We planted a mix of local potted natives and did a little bit of hand seeding!
