We had another wonderful meeting last Wednesday. ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿ˜€

TM Francesca joined us in-person where she gave a fantastic speech on exhibiting extreme physical strength amid desperate and trying scenarios that require it. Francesca discussed a situation in which she herself exhibited the strength necessary to lift her husband, who was temporarily immobile, out of their car and into a wheelchair so that he could be transported into a hospital for emergency medical treatment. It was a wonderful speech, delivered by a strong speaker and person. We are so proud of Francesca and we look forward to her next speech. Go Francesca! ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘โญ๏ธ

TM Dana spoke about an online test she took that assessed her strengths. This came from advice given to her by a mentor. She took the Don Clifton test and found that she had many strengths. Something that should come of no surprise to anyone who knows her. We are so fortunate to have her as a part of our club and we are proud of her progress. Congrats, Dana! ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿ‘

TM Evan led the Table Topics, something that heโ€™s done before and heโ€™s done very well. This time was no different. He compiled lyrics of songs from various genres and he had participants read the lyrics and deliver them with just as much passion that the singer had. This exercise was to develop vocal variety and dynamic speaking skills. It was a very creative idea and it went very well. Great job to all! ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ‘

Finally, at the end of the meeting, TM Christina officially handed over the power of the Presidency to our new President, TM Khen Yonay. Refer to the last image on the post to see the official passing of the Aggie Toastmasters Gavel. We are so proud of their leadership and we look forward to the future of our club. Congrats to both and we wish them well. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜€โญ๏ธ

One more thing, we are taking a few weeks off from meeting due to impending finals for our student members and we want our members to have more time to celebrate the holidays with their families and friends. Weโ€™ll resume meeting on January 5, 2022. Stay tuned for more info on that.

Good luck to our student members with their finals and Happy Holidays to all! ๐ŸŽ‰โญ๏ธ Thanks and Gig โ€˜em! ๐Ÿ‘

After a relaxing and enjoyable Thanksgiving ๐Ÿฆƒ break, we reconvened this past Wednesday for another great meeting! ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ‘โญ๏ธ

We heard 3 prepared speeches from 3 talented speakers. TM Ganesh spoke about his Toastmasters journey, one of dedication and accomplishment. TM Mohammed gave a speech about taking chances that yielding positive results. TM Khen talked about motivation. Congrats all! ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ˜€

TM Khen also led the Table Topics where participants got to speak about any topic they wanted and it was ok Khen and the audience to determine the prompting question that surrounds it. It was an interesting twist and it went really well. Great job, everybody! โญ๏ธ

Join us for our last meeting of the calendar year this coming Wednesday. Weโ€™ll resume meetings in January, 2022.

Have a great weekend! Gig โ€˜em Ags! ๐Ÿ‘

We had another great meeting yesterday! ๐Ÿ˜€โญ๏ธ๐Ÿ‘

We began with hearing prepared speeches from TMs Mohammad, who discussed the importance of gratitude ๐Ÿ™, and TM Ibrahim, who talked about whether or not reading is overrated - long story, short, itโ€™s not! ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ“™๐Ÿ“•๐Ÿ“—๐Ÿ“˜๐Ÿ“š

Instead of holding Table Topics, we held a special election for 5 officer positions that are soon to be vacated by their current holders. Each candidate, both opposed and unopposed, gave a speech explaining why they should assume the role.

The candidates were:
1.) VP Education: TM Nathan โ€œNateโ€ Young (unopposed);
2.) VP Public Relations: TM Ibrahim Semary (unopposed);
3.) VP Membership: TMs Nidhin Ninan, and Evan Michels;
4.) Sergeant of Arms: TMs Evan Michels, and Michele King;
5.) Secretary: TM Farha Semary (Ibrahimโ€™s sister - unopposed).

Voting has concluded tonight @ 6pm and the results of this election and last weekโ€™s Presidential election will be officially announced on here very soon. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŽŠ๐ŸŽ‰

We will not be meeting next Wednesday due to campus being closed for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving ๐Ÿฆƒ and we hope to see yโ€™all either in-person or virtual on Wednesday (12/01).

Thanks and Gig โ€˜em, Ags! ๐Ÿ‘

What another great meeting! ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŒŸ

We met last Wednesday and it went different than usual. We had our Presidential special election. Normally at Aggie Toastmasters our President and officers serve for a calendar year, but Christina () is leaving due to her graduating (Congrats by the way! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŽŠ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŽ‰) so we had to pick a successor. Our two candidates were TM Khen Yonay () and TM Ibrahim Semary (). They each gave vote-for-me speeches and our club voted. The results will be announced on here very soon. ๐Ÿฅ

TM Khen also gave a prepared speech where he discussed understanding different leadership styles, a common, yet important theme at Toastmasters. He discussed his leadership styles. He is an accomplished speaker and leader. Congrats, Khen! ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ‘โญ๏ธ

TM Evan led the Table Topics again this week, heโ€™s proving to be very skilled at coming up with and delivering topics because this weekโ€™s were fantastic. Throughout his time here so far, he observed speakers using creative words to describe things in their remarks. He wanted participants to expand on their creative speaking skills by giving a plain almost boring prompt and having them respond as creatively as possible. Everyone did very well! ๐Ÿ˜€โญ๏ธ๐ŸŽŠ๐Ÿ‘

Join us this coming Wednesday either in person or virtual @ 5:30 pm. We will be having special elections for other vacant officer positions so come out and support our candidates.

Have a great week! Thanks and Gig โ€˜em! ๐Ÿ‘

Over the past couple of weeks, our amazing and dedicated group of officers met with and presented to a couple of A&M-related groups and organizations that are anchored in different fields of study.

On Thursday (11/4) we travelled to west campus to give a presentation to the Masters students studying Marketing, we talked about giving and delivering speeches and emphasized itโ€™s importance in professional development. We also hosted a Table Topics session where they put their impromptu speaking skills to the test by answering fun questions surrounding business and marketing. It was an enjoyable and rewarding experience to be able to pass along our knowledge and experience to others. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜€

This past Tuesday (11/9) we went to a A&M School of Public Health (SPH) Health and Wellness Committee and gave a presentation on all things Toastmasters and hosted a Table Topics Session where they answered fun questions surrounding their interest and field of study. We had a great time!

We were so honored and humbled to be able to meet with others and showcase our knowledge and skills as well as the club that helped us gain them. We are very proud of this club and all that itโ€™s accomplished and we look forward to the next opportunity to speak to others about it and how to become a better public speaker. ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŒŸ

Thanks and Gig โ€˜em! ๐Ÿ‘
