The Texas A&M University Women's Chorus was founded in 1979 by Patricia P. Fleitas, and consists of approximately 70 women who have achieved membership through a vocal audition and personal interview. Although considered an extracurricular activity, the chorus rehearses an average of five hours a week. Thes
e women take pride in themselves and their organization as they represent Texas A&M across Texas, the nation, and abroad. In May of 2009 the Women's Chorus traveled to Europe for a concert tour of Hungary, Slovakia, and Czech Republic. The Women's Chorus has also traveled to China, Canada, England, the Pacific Northwest, and the central U.S. One-A-Chord, an ensemble of 8 ladies from within the Women's Chorus, also perform extensively for local clubs and organizations.
