As a Research Assistant Professor and poultry processing and food safety specialist with Texas A&M AgriLife Poultry Extension, Wang plans to build his program around direct engagement with poultry processors and the challenges they face.

His work will focus on foodborne pathogen control, food safety, regulatory compliance, and poultry product quality, while developing practical resources, training, and research-based solutions for the industry.

This new role is also a homecoming for Dr. Wang. After earning his bachelor’s degree in Poultry Science from Texas A&M, he continued his education and career at the University of Georgia and Auburn University before returning to Aggieland.

Help us welcome Dr. Wang back home to Aggieland! 🐔👍

The past two days have been a busy—and rewarding—two days for Team Poultry Science! 🐥

On Monday, our team validated and wing banded more than 7,200 broiler chicks for the State Fair of Texas Broiler Show. Then on Tuesday, 52 organizations picked up their chicks and headed home to begin the journey toward this year’s State Fair! 🏆🐔

We’re proud to play a part in this important outreach effort and to help provide opportunities for youth across Texas to learn, grow and show their hard work through poultry projects. ❤️

A big thank-you to everyone who helped make these two days a success!

🥚🍮 Egg-cited to celebrate National Vanilla Custard Day! 🍮🥚

Did you know eggs play an important role in creating the smooth, creamy texture of traditional custards? Egg proteins coagulate when heated, helping the custard transform from a liquid into a thick, delicious treat.

And that’s just one of the many ways eggs function in food products! 🥚✨

So today, enjoy a little custard and celebrate the incredible versatility of the egg! 💛
