The fourth post in our six part series of Undergraduate Opportunities in TAMU ATMO highlights SEA-Met, our yearly study abroad program ✈️! SEA-Met is a professor-led study abroad for our meteorology students, lasting two weeks every May after the spring semester ends. Our students have had the opportunity to study meteorology in collaboration with many different programs in Barbados 🇧🇧, Australia 🇦🇺, Germany 🇩🇪, and many more! 🌎

Dr. Kelly Núñez Ocasio and collaborators have published the first comprehensive paper on African Easterly Waves (AEWs) in the Journal of the Atmospheric Sciences!

This work goes over decades of research to better understand how these waves form, evolve, and influence rainfall and tropical cyclone development. Check it out and learn more about one of the atmosphere’s most impactful tropical systems! 🌍

Former graduate student and current instructor faculty member, Dr. Dickey talks about her favorite classes to teach including Weather and Climate (ATMO 201) the structure and motion of the atmosphere; climate; fronts and cyclones and many other fundamental courses.
