“Coming into sophomore year I had no experience with orgs on campus and was terrified of meeting new people. All it took was being myself and honestly the rest played out so perfectly and brought me some of my bestest friends. Don’t be intimidated by a new experience and really lean into it and be yourself! I can’t wait to meet every single one of y’all and find the ABSOLUTE PERFECT 80 😍”

Rain is mommy👩‍🍼. Rain is cowgirl chique🐴🤠 and she is a Telecommunications and Media Studies 🤳📞 major from New Braunfels, Texas!

Fun facts about Rain:

- I was a rodeo queen and I competed in barrel racing🐎
- I threw up learning how to write my name 🤢
- I love any kind of bear, but especially polar bears 🐻🐻‍❄️
- I love reading, science fiction or informational non-fiction (i’m halfway through the Dune book series)
- I can do a 360 wakesurfing
- I have an english cocker spaniel named Rocky 🐶🦴

Her message to the incoming Sophomores:

“Every day is another chance to take a step towards the person you want to be! Everyone in SAIL wants to see you at your best and support you through your ups and downs. I’ve never felt so accepted and welcomed to be who I truly am as I have in this organization. Share yourself with others, and they’ll share themselves right back. Become comfortable being uncomfortable, and you will grow so much! Regardless of where you come from, you will be loved, valued, and heard in SAIL.

“Be somebody who makes everybody feel like a somebody” - Wesley Sanders

4 years ago on this day, Wesley Sanders and his sister tragically passed away. We would like to take a moment to remember him and the incredible legacy he left in our organization. He was a sailor who embodied everything it meant to be in SAIL, he truly lived by our core values, and deeply impacted everyone around him.

Our sailors got their bigs yesterday! ⛵️🫶🏼Bigs serve as the ‘parents’ of our crews, which consist of 8 sophomores, 2 bigs and 2 directors. Crews are like little families within SAIL, and we can’t wait to see all the amazing things they do this year! 🤗

Thank you to all of directors, execs, bigs, and of course, our sophomores for making it all worth it. Here is to a year full of laughter, love, and all things SAIL.
