Update on trials! Everything has been planted this side of the panhandle. One more corn trial, planting next week. Then 3 sorghum trials from Lubbock to Perryton.

Bardwell is the last corn location to flower on this side. Sorghum plots will be flowering in the next few weeks.

Dry conditions early in the year added to some variability across locations. A lot of that has smoothed out probably starting around the Wharton area and moving north. Timely rains have helped the drought situation tremendously in parts of the state.

Corn and sorghum crops are thriving where moisture is strong, with prices on the rise. 🌽

Across the state, corn and sorghum crops are thriving where moisture is available, but suffering in areas with drought conditions, according to AgriLife Extension experts.

We are officially DONE with #2025 🎉!!! We are so grateful to our incredible network of producers and county agents that help us pull off the Texas OVT trials every year.
