General Meeting 3!

Greetings Members!

Cannot believe the semester is almost done. We are at the last general meeting of the semester. Of course, projects and events continue to run in the background.

The last meeting is going to be in a NEW location this time. Please note that.

Where : Emerging Technologies Building (ETB 3024)

Toyota Plant Tour!

For us manufacturing enthusiasts, we all know the story of how Toyota Production System changed the way manufacturing was looked at, and manufacturing systems were changed for the better since then!

How about actually going to the place where it all started?

For the plant tour:

Cost : $30 per student,
Date: Friday, November 13
Location: San Antonio
Time of departure : 7:45 AM,
Time of plant tour :12 PM,
Tour time : ~1 hr 15 min,
Time of return to College Station : 5 PM
We will let you know about the pickup and drop off location soon.

- We are stopping at Buc-ee's on the way back.
- Breakfast and Lunch will be provided by ASME-Tech, a partnering student organization
- Registration is through the Marketplace ( It will go live in the meeting on tuesday)

Some Snaps from our last SME general meeting.

We had Lynntech come in and talk about the really cool work they do. It was refreshing to see the kind of career path Lynntech had to offer and a lot of members were impressed with what they had to talk about!

Of course, there was fried chicken and fries to add some gusto to the meeting along with some "posing" for pictures!

SME has set up a market place for the sale of safety glasses and gloves.

You can use your credit/debit cards to place the order online and then pick it up from the SME office.

We will not close the transaction till you pick up the transaction and are satisfied with what you are getting.
