The best part of Homecoming is you!

Thank you to the alumni, families, students, faculty, and staff who joined us over the weekend to reconnect, reminisce, and celebrate what makes Colorado College special.

Class reunions, academic open houses, Tiger athletics, campus traditions, and time spent with old and new friends brought our community together across generations.

Eric Boltz '89 is one of this year's Louis T. Benezet Award recipients for his contributions to community betterment and his indomitable spirit in the face of challenge. He learned at CC that what seemed impossible was actually within reach, a lesson he has carried with him throughout his life.

He will be honored at the Alumni Association Awards Ceremony on Saturday, Oct. 10 as part of Homecoming Weekend 2026. Learn more and register for the weekend at coloradocollege.edu/other/homecoming/

At CC, Boltz discovered a lifelong love of physical adventure which never faded. He continued getting outside even as he became president and owner of Marathon Sensors Inc. and successfully negotiated its merger with for other companies to co-found United Process Controls. A paralyzing spinal cord injury in 2015 brought unexpected challenges, and Boltz met them with the resilience and determination embodied in a liberal arts education.

Together with his wife and partner Yvonne, Eric co-founded BoltzStrong, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit where they live in Loveland, Ohio to offer adaptive cooking and farming classes for the disabled community. Since opening in August 2022, BoltzStrong has hosted over 250 adaptive classes, serving around 400 individuals alongside their families and caregivers.

This weekend, families visited campus to reconnect, explore their students’ world, and make new memories together. With Micro Blocks, fun events, and plenty of Tiger spirit, Family Weekend was a celebration with the people who make CC feel like home.

Colorado College student Kaviya Chidambaram ’27 is putting community leadership at the center of her work in Chennai, India.

Kaviya has been awarded a $10,000 Davis Project for Peace grant to support fisherwomen facing climate displacement along the coast of Tamil Nadu. In partnership with the Human Rights Advocacy and Research Foundation, she will host a three-day conference bringing together 50 single fisherwomen, community organizers, and advocates from across the state.

Together, participants will share their experiences, develop priorities for the state’s coastal budget, and work toward stronger protections for coastal communities.

Kaviya’s project reflects her commitment to uplifting community voices and creating more equitable and inclusive leadership practices.

Last night, Colorado College President Manya Whitaker joined fellow liberal arts college presidents and higher education journalists at the ninth annual Presidents Dinner, hosted by Bucknell University in Washington, D.C.

The gathering brought together leaders and journalists for thoughtful conversation about the opportunities and challenges shaping higher education today. It was a meaningful opportunity to share perspectives, build connections, and champion the value of a liberal arts education.

“My institution, like many in this room, is forming partnerships," says Dr. Whitaker. "Whether it’s pathways from community colleges to us, pathways from us to regional public schools for graduate school, or across the nation to other private institutions for graduate school. This is a moment in higher education when it’s about collaboration, not competition.”

Through Colorado College’s Mathematical and Computational Undergraduate Research Experience, students investigated redistricting, representation, gerrymandering, and more while applying abstract concepts to real-world questions.
