π UCCS AIAA NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT β HELP US KEEP REACHING FOR THE STARS!
The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) student chapter at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs has organized over 20 events this past year alone β and we've done it largely out of our own pockets after the university severely cut our funding.
This semester alone we hosted:
ποΈ Col. Kim Campbell, author of "Flying in the Face of Fear"
πͺ Dr. Robert Zubrin, founder of the Mars Society, for Engineers Week
π A stargazing night with the Colorado Springs Astronomical Society
π An Artemis II Launch Party with Astronaut Duane "Digger" Carey
πΈ Visits to Space Force's Joint Commercial Operations Center, United Launch Alliance & the Space Foundation Discovery Center
βοΈ Participation in the AIAA Regional Student Paper Conference at Iowa State University
And we're just getting started. Coming up:
𧫠An experiment launch to the International Space Station in May β "Fungal Bioleaching in Microgravity: Fungal Approaches to Metal Recovery"
π A high-altitude radiation experiment launch to the edge of space in August
These missions are UNFUNDED by the university. We refuse to shut down β but we need your help to keep going.
Every dollar goes directly toward events, speakers, and missions that inspire the next generation of aerospace engineers.
