The Division of IT has appointed Dr. Beth Woods as Assistant Vice President for IT Enterprise AI, Data & Research Computing, effective May 1.

In this role, Woods will help lead the university’s efforts to define and advance its enterprise strategy for artificial intelligence, advanced analytics and high-performance computing.

Through the Provost’s AI Fellowship, South Carolina Honors College students are gaining hands-on experience with artificial intelligence while helping faculty integrate it into classrooms, building skills that prepare them for a rapidly evolving workforce.

With support from the Division of IT and the South Carolina Honors College, the Provost's AI Fellowship gives students hands-on experience with faculty while expanding the impact of AI across teaching and research.

Behind the scenes of Human Resources, Payroll and Finance, our Administrative Systems team keeps the University running smoothly. This powerhouse group of PeopleSoft professionals partners closely with HR, Payroll, Purchasing, the Controller’s Office and the Bursar to deliver stable, secure and modern enterprise systems.

From day-to-day system support and incident resolution to designing, testing and launching new solutions, this team turns complex needs into reliable outcomes. They also collaborate with external partners, manage system upgrades and guide projects from idea to implementation.

Looking ahead, the team is playing a key role in modernizing platforms, supporting strategic IT initiatives and helping shape the University’s future move toward next-generation, cloud-based, AI-enabled enterprise systems.
