In April, more than 50 students across Missouri attended the inaugural School of Medicine Bridging the Gaps: Primary Care Outreach Day!

At the event, attendees explored a breadth of potential medical careers through an interactive, case-based learning experience that demonstrated how physicians across specialties work together to care for patients.

“This day meant more than just earning a degree. It was the culmination of a lifelong dream rooted in the values my family instilled in me growing up. One of the greatest gifts of attending the School of Medicine was the opportunity to stay close to my family and support system while learning medicine in the rural communities that shaped who I am, and every experience strengthened my desire to return home to serve the people of mid-Missouri. As someone raised in a family of proud Mizzou Tigers, sharing this milestone with them made the moment even more meaningful and reinforced my commitment to continue serving the community that raised me.”
