From Mizzou to the middle school classroom, Jennifer Payne, BSEd '16, is inspiring the next generation of scientists every day. A sixth-grade science teacher at John Warner Middle School in Columbia, Payne was recently nominated for America’s Favorite Teacher and advanced all the way to the Top 5, ultimately finishing second in her group in the national competition. Early childhood educators from 19 schools across Missouri gathered for a summer institute earlier this month, led by Angie Zapata as part of the Comprehensive Literacy State Development (CLSD) Grant. We're proud to celebrate five outstanding students from Mizzou's Educational Leadership & Policy Analysis (ELPA) program who shared their perspectives on higher education and workforce development policy during a student panel at last week's Coordinating Board for Higher Education meeting. Representing ELPA and Mizzou before state leaders and policymakers, Mikaela Adolphus, Haylee Anderson, Juan Jose (JJ) Reyes, Luis Ricardo Rojas and Jess Soete showcased the thoughtful research, leadership and expertise that define our program. Opportunities like these allow our students to contribute directly to important conversations shaping the future of higher education in Missouri. Congratulations to Kale Monk, associate professor in Human Development & Family Science, and alumnus Matthew Ogan, MS '21, PhD '24, on receiving national recognition from the International Association for Relationship Research (IARR). Monk received the Gerald R. Miller Award for Early Career Achievement, which recognizes outstanding contributions to the scientific study of personal and social relationships. Ogan received a Steve Duck New Scholar Award, supporting emerging scholars conducting research on personal relationships. We're proud to see Mizzou researchers advancing knowledge and making an impact in the field. 🐯

This year, Mizzou Academy celebrated 746 graduates from 18 countries, with some students and families coming together at Townsend Hall on June 13 for a memorable commencement ceremony. Mizzou Academy is a global K-12 school system with over 200 courses and programs for elementary through high school learners.
