Students, faculty, and staff spent the day in Jefferson City setting up a new exhibit examining Missourians’ perspectives on America at 250. The exhibit, nearly two years in the making, was created by undergraduate students on the public history ASH Scholars team, a program of the Mizzou Honors College and Office of Undergraduate Research.

Join us this Saturday, June 6 from 12:30 - 2:30 pm for the public unveiling of this new exhibit at the Missouri State Museum in the state capitol.

This exhibit was made possible by Missouri Humanities.

Last week, we welcomed back a special group of alumni who either studied away with us at Oxford or came from England to study here with us. Together with our advisory board and current MA students, we explored America’s National Churchill Museum and shared stories about our Kinder experience.

Our alumni are an important part of our story, and we’re always grateful for time to reconnect.

We wrapped up our A250 Global Perspectives lecture series last Tuesday with Kinder Institute Senior Fellow Lawrence Goldman, whose UK perspective brought our final event full circle. It was a fitting finale to our globe‑trotting America at 250 journey.

Thank you to all who attended. The series is available to watch on our YouTube channel.

Jesse 410 is quiet today, but just a couple of weeks ago it was full of energy, ideas, and inspiration during our 2nd Annual South Africa Conference.

Each year, students in the Race and Politics in South Africa course begin their journey with a study abroad experience in Cape Town. That trip sets the stage for a semester of deep learning, critical reflection, and meaningful research. By the end of the spring semester, all of that hard work culminates in the conference, where students present the research they’ve developed.
