University of Missouri Army ROTC (MIZZOU)

University of Missouri Army ROTC (MIZZOU) This is the official page of the University of Missouri of Army ROTC. The cadet corps has grown from 35 to 125 in seven years.

The Army ROTC program at the University of Missouri is one of
the strongest programs in the nation, with most recent graduates leading soldiers in combat in both Iraq and Afghanistan. MU Army ROTC also commissions Lieutenants from other mid‐Missouri campuses, to include Columbia College, Stephens College, and Central Methodist University. MU Army ROTC has grown from producing single digits in the

early 2000s, to over 20 commissionees in 2011, tripling its size. Consistently, MU cadets perform at or above the national averages at Advanced Camp (Cadet Summer Training), the 29 day summer camp held for juniors at Fort Knox, KY.

Army ROTC cadets recently conducted the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge (GAFPB) test, a demanding event designed to test overall fitness, endurance, and marksmanship. The challenge included a physical fitness assessment, a swim test, and a pistol qualification, challenging cadets across multiple domains.

A total of 24 cadets participated in the event, with an overall pass rate of 79.2%. Among those who successfully completed the competition, 9 earned Gold (37.5%), 6 earned Silver (25%), and 4 earned Bronze (16.7%), reflecting a strong level of performance across the group of cadets.

Congratulations to all cadets who competed for their discipline, resilience, and commitment to excellence.

Once a proud Tiger, now Captain Stark is out doing big things and achieving her long time goal of appearing on Wheel of Fortune.

Way to go Captain Stark!

From growing up watching “Wheel of Fortune” to stepping onto the stage herself, our very own Capt. Rachael Stark took a chance and turned it into an unforgettable experience.

Stark credits her time in the military with helping her stay focused under pressure and said she was proud to represent the Missouri National Guard and her unit on the show.

“I would absolutely encourage other Soldiers to take opportunities like this,” Stark said. “You never know where it might lead.”

21 cadets from the Tiger Battalion recently traveled to White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico to participate in the Bataan Memorial Death March, a challenging march that honors the heroic service members who endured the Bataan Death March during World War II.

The annual event commemorates the sacrifice and resilience of the American Soldiers who were forced to march over 60 miles as prisoners of war in 1942. Today, participants complete the march in their memory and in recognition of the enduring spirit of those who served.

Due to forecasted extreme temperatures and limited available medical support, event organizers shortened this year’s course from the traditional marathon distance to a 15.6-mile honorary route to ensure the safety of participants while still preserving the purpose of the memorial.

Congratulations to the cadets who took on this demanding challenge and represented our battalion with determination, grit, and respect for the legacy of those who came before us.
