With our Vice President of Administration & Finance Briley Coleman

Here is Briley’s Why for going Greek and going Panhellenic,

“When I decided to go through recruitment my sophomore year, I was so excited about the opportunity to join the Panhellenic community. During my freshman year at USC, I saw how Greek life provided so many girls with a sense of belonging at USC, meaningful involvement on campus, and sweet, lifelong friendships. I knew it was a community I wanted to be a part of, but I never could have imagined just how much it would impact my college experience. Since joining my chapter and becoming part of the Panhellenic community, I have truly found my home at Carolina. Panhellenic has given me my best friends, incredible leadership opportunities, and a support system that has encouraged me to grow both personally and professionally. Taking a leap of faith and joining Greek life was one of the best decisions I have made in college, and I am so grateful every day for the friendships, experiences, and sisterhood that Panhellenic has brought into my life!!

I ran for my position because I wanted the opportunity to give back to a community that has given me so much throughout my college experience. Serving in this role has allowed me to meet incredible women across the Panhellenic community, build relationships with leaders from other Fraternity and Sorority Life councils, and represent an organization that means so much to me. One of the most rewarding aspects of this position has been the opportunity to apply what I have learned in the classroom to meaningful, real-world experiences within a community I care deeply about. Throughout my time as VPAF, I have grown as both a leader and a person, and it has been incredibly fulfilling to contribute to the continued success of the Panhellenic at USC. I have also been so fortunate to share this experience with an amazing executive board, whose support and friendship have made this journey even more meaningful!”

Hear about why Shannon chose to Go Greek, and what Greek life has brought her!

“While originally hesitant to go through the recruitment process, I pursued Panhellenic recruitment as an opportunity to meet girls on campus as an out-of-state student before classes started. Little did I know, joining Panhellenic would be the means by which I continue to form friendships to this day. Contrary to common misconceptions surrounding Greek life, I chose to join Panhellenic because it develops college women through academics, professional preparation, and service. As someone coming from an all-girls high school, I wanted to continue growing as a person and maintain a supportive sisterhood in undergrad. The Panhellenic community has provided just that and has exceeded all expectations!

What initially started as a spontaneous decision to apply to be a co-director for the Community Wellness Committee (CWC) last year quickly became a true passion of mine. I have learned so much about myself as a person, as well as how to properly promote and shed a positive light on mental health and physical well-being. This committee is crucial to CPA. I have been able to lead a team and plan wellness events that include a variety of workout classes to encourage physical movement, passouts and sisterhood-like events to uplift girls, and tabling to educate and create a positive environment for Panhellenic women. I am honored to help advocate for mental health resources, create an inclusive environment where women feel empowered, and help active members in areas of personal growth and development.“ 💖

This week we are highlighting Pi Beta Phi’s spring philanthropy book drive, collecting over 3,000 books for children in the Columbia area!

Pi Beta Phi’s philanthropic initiative is Read > Lead > Achieve which aims to inspire a lifelong love of reading that can unlock true potential, creating a more literate and productive society. The power of reading is a step toward a life of enduring impact. One child, one moment at a time, one life changed forever.

Pi Beta Phi’s annual Spring Book Drive spanned over the entire month of February. Raising over 3,000 books for children and the donations went to two local elementary schools as well as one local middle school. During the time the members were able to deliver the books to the schools!

We are so proud of Pi Beta Phi’s effort towards their philanthropy! 🩵
