This week we are highlighting Pi Beta Phi’s spring philanthropy book drive, collecting over 3,000 books for children in the Columbia area!

Pi Beta Phi’s philanthropic initiative is Read > Lead > Achieve which aims to inspire a lifelong love of reading that can unlock true potential, creating a more literate and productive society. The power of reading is a step toward a life of enduring impact. One child, one moment at a time, one life changed forever.

Pi Beta Phi’s annual Spring Book Drive spanned over the entire month of February. Raising over 3,000 books for children and the donations went to two local elementary schools as well as one local middle school. During the time the members were able to deliver the books to the schools!

We are so proud of Pi Beta Phi’s effort towards their philanthropy! 🩵

Alpha Gamma Delta hosted their spring philanthropy event, Singing for Sami, raising over $25,000!

Singing for Sami is a lip-sync dance battle where greek organizations come together to compete for a pize while fundraising to promote rideshare safety. Alpha Gamma Delta’s Local Philanthropy is the Whats My Name Foundation.

Samantha (Sami) Josephson was a sister of Alpha Gam at UofSC in 2019. One night Sami got into a car that she believed was her Uber and was tragically taken from her loved ones. Ever since then, Alpha Gamma Delta has been supporting the What’s My Name Foundation and advocating for Rideshare safety and ensuring that what happened to Sami would never happen again.

We are so proud of Alpha Gamma Delta and their dedication to not only their philanthropy, but spreading awareness for Rideshare safety and keeping Sami’s memory alive! ❤️❤️

Kappa Alpha Theta hosted their first big philanthropy event, CASA Color Run, raising over $15,000!

Kappa Alpha Theta works with National CASA-GAL and the Richland County CASA-GAL with their mission to recruit and support trained volunteers to speak up for abused or neglected children in court, so those children can be safe, find permanent homes, and have the chance to thrive. Casa Color Run was held at the State Fairgrounds where there was food, music, coffee, and lots of color!

We are so proud of Kappa Alpha Theta and their efforts towards supporting CASA! Also a huge shoutout to the women who put in so much hard work to get this event started! 🩷💛
