Mission: To expand perspectives on social issues through opportunities of learning, training, and service. The Bridge was initiated in August 2015 in the College of Education and provides a brave and inclusive space for students, faculty, and staff to expand their multicultural knowledge, awareness, and skills. Research Discussions are back!

Our first research discussion will be held Tuesday, September 15th from 11AM - 12PM in The Bridge. We will be joined by a graduate student in the ELPA department, Katherine Hairston!

We will be discussing Katherine's research in how school board presidents lead through relationships and collaboration.

Throughout the semester, we love to showcase beloved books and movies that our student staff and SAC members chose for the semester. Every month we have something new to enjoy and discuss with us and your college community.

Come join us for our book and movie discussions every month until the end of the Fall '26 semester!

Book discussions are Tuesdays from 3-4pm and movie discussions are Thursdays from 2-3pm.

If you don't know what that is, it's a person in the educational leadership and policy analysis department. So definitely go check them out . Dr. Sarkar will be introducing her examination of ableism in educational policy and practice. Thank you to everyone who has gotten the chance to leave a note and positive feedback for the artist and took a look at the beautiful art that she has displayed. If you still haven't gotten the chance, come to East Townsend Hallway to check out Jadi Davis' exhibit "Felt(IT)ed" 🧶🎨!

Coming up, we have the opportunity to actually talk to the artist and expand more upon her pieces she chose to display. Come join us in The Bridge or join us on Zoom at https://bit.ly/Sp26ArtistTalk. From the description she gave, she describes her pieces as honoring her ancestors and heritage while also being inspired by nature, history, and the lived cultural experiences and narratives of African American communities. Join the Student Advisory Committee to contribute your ideas and discuss with other SAC's about ways to help improve The Bridge and the world in your field of study.
